Still home today

We stayed home again today, Olivia and I. We headed to the doctor first thing, and then we decided it best that we have one more day at home before going to school with a runny nose.

Anyway, after 1 episode of Blue's Clues, that was it for mommy. So Olivia and I headed out to the Michael's to get some stuff for a fun filled day of crafts.

Paints are always a good choice. And she likes them with the brush, NOT finger paints. With finger paints she says, "mommy get it off!" So we got some standard water colors and some washable glitter paint, some foam stickers, colored pom pons and glue! What fun.

As you can see, she originally was wearing the smock...(and still the band-aid)
but that soon came off and the blue paint was all over her shirt and arm in tattoo form.
After a shower and a nap and a change of clothes, there was more "making pictures" but this time I opted out of the glitter paint and just let her have the stickers, water color and glue. With Olivia feeling so well, and the day being slightly warm, we had high hopes for the rest of the week; go to school, play outside, walk home, play outside, etc. And then there it was again...

I hate ear infections...

sore throats, watery eyes, runny noses, hoarse coughs, sad eyes, achy backs, legs and hands, fevers, and well, anything that has upset Olivia over the past 72 hours!

You guessed it, we have not had a very good weekend. Other than a few happy hours here and there of playing, Olivia has been really sick. We have all been lacking in sleep, proper nutrition and fun. Thank God for Disney, Dora and Blues Clues!!!

Olivia likes wearing band-aids, so this one is to make her ears feel better...while she has dinner on Daddy' s lap. It looks more like she is sleeping.
She likes to lay down in the chair and rest while we get things together like water and medicine.
Lets hope that she is feeling better soon, the weather is looking better and we need to get out before it snows again!:)

Busy, Busy, Busy

The weekend was nice. We started out Friday night with Olivia helping in the kitchen again, making tea...
Luckily dinner was take out Chinese, so she had the kitchen to herself!

It snowed on Saturday so we stayed in. There is lots to do when you stay in with a 2-year old AND have had a good night sleep. So first we decided to color. During our coloring session we decided we should trace Olivia's body and make a life size model to hang on the wall by her toy kitchen, she really liked this project. She would have liked it better had she been the one to do the actual scissor cutting!
Then Olivia decided that she wanted to be a lady bug and wear her Halloween costume for the rest of the day, and a little peek-a-boo at lunch.
Sunday, we had a play date with Marissa and the girls had a great time running and playing on the playground. We were hoping it would be a little warmer, but at least the snow had melted away by the time we went to play.
Finally we ended up back in the kitchen to finish off the weekend, with Olivia making chocolate pudding. She did a pretty good job, minimal mess, but I can't say the same for her face after she ate it!

We finally did it!

So, today Olivia had her very first hair cut! Amazing I know that we could go that long - 28months - before we cut her hair. But today seemed to be the day, get ready for spring and get a little girl new do. At first she was positive that she was getting ready, we talked about it all the way there, she even said that "its excieting!" But once we got to Linda's house she wasn't sure about it. It was fun to see all the stuff at Linda's - she had fish and fun decorations around - and the rollers were cool, but not so sure about the chair. After about 20 minutes, I said, "well, I guess we better go if you aren't getting your hair cut, tell Linda good-bye." "No, I site in the chair," she replied and that was that. She was so good and didn't wiggle and let Linda cut her hair! I of course didn't have my camera for pics of the cut itself, except for my phone, which I have no idea how to get off the phone, but I did take some tonight when we got home..."smile for mommy!"
