Winter Indoor play

So, its really, really, really cold here. Unbelievably cold. We have taken to the indoors over the last weekend.

Olivia spent some time with Daddy playing Sesame Street games on the computer...

We have also had lots of phone time. Olivia has talked to Grandmama, Grandma and Papa, Grandpa, and, of course, Auntie Stephanie, Max and Sebastian. She just has so much to say...

Olivia also has enjoyed being a Princess both in her shoes and her crown that she made at school...

Mommy has had some time to do some things too, like baking and, well, a little cleaning, although Daddy did a much better job at cleaning than I did. But dinners have been warm and delicious, if I don't say so myself. I am really proud of Olivia's Saturday night dinner: homemade turkey sausage, mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli...that looked like a little snail in the grass!!
It was really cute and even she thought so, but eating it was another story. She ended up eating most of the mashed potatoes, and some of the broccoli of which Rascal got some too and about half the sausage. Although it wasn't easy and we did have to bribe a little bit for teddy bear cookies afterwards.

A Day at the Zoo

Today was warm enough to get out of the house. Well, we also really needed to go do something exceiting and fun for the family. So, we went to the zoo. Who doesn't love the zoo? It was perfect to go there for Olivia is still fascinated with animals. She was so exceited I didn't think we would get there fast enough.
Luckily too, it wasn't too crowded so Olivia walked the whole time. Sometimes she ran, other times she dauddled, she even got a ride on Daddy's shoulers but the best part was seeing all the animals...well, and snack time and lunch!

This is outside the new Elephant Crossing exhibit. Olivia liked this statue of Ganish enough to decide to enjoy her snack here as well...

Inside we finally got to see the new baby elephant!! She is so cute, we all loved seeing her and her mommy...

When we got home, it was time for yet another snack! Olivia decided to get it herself and she said, "I sit dere." And had her snack in the refridgerator! At least she was eating a cheese stick and not the butter!

Games with Rascal

Olivia has taken to a nightly game with Rascal. For Christmas, Rascal got a new stuffed puppy that he likes to pull all the stuffing out of and rip apart. So, Olivia thinks this is funny, but she thinks its even funnier to take it away from him. Then she runs away with it and Rascal chases her around the playroom. The giggles get going, she will fall down and Rascal gets it back, only long enough for her to get up and take off with it again. This goes on and on and on. I guess Rascal does end up winning, because she usually has to go up for bathtime and then he gets to relax with this little buddy.
